48 year old male with a history of bilateral renal calculi and now presents with recent pain.
Intravenous Urography (IVU) was requested to demonstrate any obstruction of the ureters due to passing of calculi.
Radiographs demonstrated unobstruced flow of contrast from kidneys to urinary bladder. Calculus was seen in a malrotated left kidney on the control image.
A tomogram at the level of the kidneys, at 5 minutes, was performed for a sharper outline of these organs and to blurr out the overlying bowel gas/faeces.
