82 year old female with a history of hip and knee pains.
Radiographic examination was requested to confirm arthritic changes of the joints in question.
Radiographs did confirm osteoarthritic changes but there was an incidental finding within the pelvis. Patient did not readily remember having any implants but later recalled her history of bladder prolapse (cystocele).
Her condition was corrected with a vaginal pessary, a ring shaped device commonly made of latex or silicone and inserted by the physician.
